Last month I did a series of post called, “Baptism Stories,” in which I shared about all of the people baptized during our outdoor celebration earlier this summer.
A helpful friend from Crossroads named Ivan Martin filmed and edited a brief DVD of the event and presented it to each family. A pretty cool remembrance…
Just recently he converted the video and uploaded it to YouTube. Enjoy, and be blessed.

Geoff:
I enjoyed the video.
There was once a time when all baptisms were in the open as a testimony to the public. Imagine how brave the early believers were to do this knowing their persecutors would see them. Then we moved it indoors for just the church family to witness. I think both methods are good. Of course a lot of small church plants have no choice but to do it the “ancient way” as they do not have a permanent baptistry. Your thoughts?

To all -
Sorry I’ve been away. I lost all of my internet this morning, and have spent the majority of the A.M. talking to a rather interesting fellow in India (AT&T customer service).
Glad you enjoyed the video.
David – We always give the families the option of baptizing their kids, so long as they are faithful believers, active in the church, and walking with the Lord.

Seeing new believers baptized is one of my favorite things. With all the talking, debating, and fussing, this video and what it represents for all eternity is what really matters.
P.S. You really are from NC aren’t you!

Guy,
It does put everything into perspective, doesn’t it?
And no, I’m not “from” North Carolina. I sojourned there as a Youth Pastor for three years, though. I am a native Tennessee boy by birth, and Kentuckian by choice, and a Floridian in my heart.

hmm, I left a thought here the other day, at least I think I did. My internet was having some spasms, so I guess it didn’t go though.
I don’t remember what I said, but I loved the video, I love seeing people confess their faith in Baptism. I really liked the music on it.
Never saw anyone Baptised sitting down in the lake. It worked great. Thanks for sharing.

Liz,
The sitting down thing was strictly practical. I wanted to keep everyone close to the shore so people could hear everything and see really well. We could have gone for deeper water, but we would have been screaming (especially when the boats went by).
Yes, it does work very well. I highly recommend the method.
Be sure to check out my new baptism posts that begin tomorrow!

Geoff,
Thanks for sharing this video. The music and the personal witnesses for our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ bring tears to my eyes. I’m proud to have been a part of that day with Ronald as he entered the baptism waters. It is a day we will always remember.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope that you will check in often.
Hopefully, I will be posting the video from yesterday by week’s end.
